Our Benchmark Babies classes have been specially designed for babies and their parent/carer to explore a number of activities through sensory and movement.  Encouraging bond building as well as physical, emotional and language development in a fun and welcoming environment.

As your child grows they will continue to enjoy exploring areas for sensory stimulation whilst rolling, crawling and cruising - with your help of course!

Sessions include hand apparatus, nursery rhymes and fun, interactive, parent led activities such as stretching, flying and tickling!

Once your child is walking they will be ready to graduate to our Parent and Toddler class where the fun continues!

Benchmark Gymnastics - Parent and Toddler

At Benchmark our Parent & Toddler Classes are based around 'FUNdamentals' - a fun and exciting programme designed and developed by British Gymnastics, in conjunction with early years specialists, to help younger children acquire essential physical, social and emotional life skills. During classes children and parents are transported into a world of adventure in which our qualified pre school coaches provide a safe, fun and stimulating environment for the parents and children to explore the different activities together.  The children have an opportunity to work on rolling, balancing, jumping and locomotor skills in order to enhance their development as well as essential bonding time with their adult!

Our coaches are very passionate about what they do and are on hand to help and assist with supporting techniques, teaching children gymnastic skills using appropriate progressions.

Enjoy a flowing and accessibly paced vinyasa sequence, allowing the body and mind to strengthen and rebalance. A grounding focus on meditation and breath will help you to restore and reconnect. Take the time to wind down int the evening, ready for the busy days ahead.

John qualified as a Yoga teacher with the Sivananda Organisation in New York and is currently studying for a 500hr advanced Training with Claire Missingham.

Great River Tai Chi

Come along to our new Tai Chi class suitable for all, including absolute beginners. We will be studying Chi Kung (Qi Gong), the solo form (what most people think of as Tai Chi), warm-ups, moving meditation and exercises. Over the weeks we will learn the Short Form, posture by posture. It is a wonderful approximately 8-minute-long set that can be practiced daily indoors or out, to great benefit. No experience or equipment is needed, just wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes, trainers or slippers. Tai Chi has been proven to improve balance and stability, lower and regulate blood pressure and improve concentration. After class each week there will be time for tea and questions with the teacher. Caroline Ross began Tai Chi in 1986, returning to study it concertedly in 2000 at The Tai Chi Centre, Tooting. She has been teaching since 2002 when she founded Great River Tai Chi.
