Did you know that strength training can help pretty much any exercise you do? From cycling to swimming, to running, to aerobics – no matter what your favourite workout is, getting stronger will boost your fitness and performance, help you prevent injury and help you burn fat when you’re not even exercising!
Next time you’re in the gym, try some of these great strength building moves:
Squats – work your quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, abdominal muscles, lower back and your butt all in one move!
Lunges – improve your balance, increase hip flexibility, tone glutes and strengthen core
Plank – great for the core, this move will tone your abs, give you better balance, and reduce back pain
Step up – Tone and strength your quads with this power move
