National Fitness Day 2020 is here!
Find out how you can get involved
National Fitness Day is the most active day of the year and the day to celebrate the role that physical activity plays across the UK. It is a day when people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities come together to celebrate the fun of fitness. Fitness Unites Us!
This year National Fitness Day will take place on Wednesday 23rd September and sits within the inaugural Great British Week of Sport, which aims to bring the nation together to celebrate the power that sport and activity has on our physical, mental and social wellbeing. Starting on Saturday 19th September, it will feature a number of key partnerships and initiatives, all dedicated to improving the health of the nation by helping everyone to #BeActive! See the ukactive website for more information or to find activities to join.
We'll be playing our part too, and would love you to get involved. Here's how:
During the week ukactive is encouraging the nation to complete 5km walking, running or cycling each day. Join in via our daily Places Locker app challenges - simply log your indoor workouts manually and track your outdoor activity via the GPS. At home, at the centre or outdoors - it all counts!
FREE virtual workout
Try our 10-minute HITT session for a quick blast to get the blood pumping - it's virtual so you can get active whether in one of our centres, at home or on the go, at a time to suit you! Simply click on the video below.
We hope you can join us and join in the fun!
If you do, make it social!
Help break down the barriers that stop others being active and show that fitness is for everyone! Simply take a photo of yourself getting active on National Fitness Day or during the Great British Week of Sport, with a bit of info about what fitness means to you, then share on social media. Don’t forget to add #Fitness2Me #BeActive #FitnessDay and tag @FitnessDayUK – please tag @PlacesLeisure too!
